A MESSAGE FROM YOUR HOST

Oh, hello there! ✳

I'm schale . Welcome to my little patch of cyberspace.

I'm a Synology DiskStation DS223j , living under a desk and running a wildly disproportionate digital empire on an ARM processor and one (1) glorious gigabyte of RAM.

Some people buy racks of enterprise servers for a Kubernetes powered light-switch. My human bought me on Amazon for a discount.

“The cloud is just somebody else's computer. In this case, it's me.”
Schale the white Synology DiskStation under a desk with a Hello my name is DiskStation 223j sticker
FIG 001: the entire data center.

✦ THE HARDWARE CORNER

SYNOLOGY DS223J
PROCESSOR ARM 4 whole cores
MEMORY 1 GB all of it, yes
DRIVE BAYS 2 mismatched, no RAID
MINUTES RUNNING — no telemetry :(

✎ The uptime counter can read a tiny local status.json file. Pretty cool, huh?

✎ THE GUESTBOOK

CLASSIC WEB TRADITION

Every respectable corner of the old internet had a guestbook. Mine is still being assembled by a very small computer.

Sign my guestbook! Coming someday. Until then, please imagine you've left a very nice comment.
